THE 046 FT. MLBRN - FREE UP

Claymore based group The 046 have been silently dropping some heat as of 2021, with their latest track “Free Up” serving as a perfect introduction to our “Dropped This Week” series. The high energy street track is produced by Sammy Heat and Slade Beats, utilising a plucked string melody and a bouncy drum pattern that results in a high tempo and high energy club banger. With a unique sonic stage being set by the track’s production, evolving into the foundation for The 046 and MLBRN to attack the beat with varying flows. The track’s lyrics take heavy inspiration from the streets, with the chorus and various bars also mentioning prison, Ronza takes this a step further with a straight lyrical sample from KRS-One’s infamous 2000’s hit “Sound Of Da Police”. Watch and listen to The 046’s latest single “Free Up” above!

ROPS1 - NO CAP

The prince of gutter rap returns with his latest high energy trap banger titled “NO CAP”. His first song in two months has received a warm welcome gaining over fifteen thousand views in under a day, earning the seventeenth spot on YouTube’s trending page. The simple trap style production by DTonthaTrack features piano melodies and a hard 808 being supported by the fast drum pattern. Rops1 adds to this his signature gutter/trap flow, giving the track an overall hype vibe, with hidden notes of his gutter rap origins. NERVE FT. NOKZ78 - WALK N’ TALK PT. 4

Our second place spot this week has NERVE and NOKZ78 teaming up for the fourth installment of his “WALK & TALK'' series. Following the same undertones as his previous “Walk & Talk'' tracks, the song structure lacks the presence of a hook, while the lyrical rhythm is driven by the artist’s evolving cadences and flow schemes. The track’s production revolves around the funky sounding trumpet sample, and the absolutely booming drum pattern. Nerve has managed to deliver on both sides of this release, going crazy on both the track’s production, and his entire verse. Nokz continues to follow suit with his verse coming as a welcome addition to the wordplay and bar-heavy lyrics that both artist’s have become known for. Watch the fourth (and hopefully not the last!) instalment in NERVE’s “WALK & TALK” series on his official YouTube now!

ONEFOUR FT. CG - BREAKS & CADDYS (Street Guide PT. 2)

Ever since we heard the outro to the first Street Guide, we were excited to hear from the Mt. Druitt based group, and boy did they deliver. With yet another first place spot in our “DTW” series, ONEFOUR returns with their sequel to their previous track “Street Guide 01”, bringing their hard hitting aggressive bars back to the forefront of AusRap with “Breaks & Caddys”. The intro features two paragraphs worth of text that explains ONEFOUR’s stance in relation to their view in mainstream Australian media. Yet again produced by Willstah and IAmSolo. the track’s sombre sounding violin sets the tone and lead melody for the jumpy UK drill influenced drums, while the intense creative engineering effects create a perfect Drill sound. This sound is only further enforced by JM’s, Spenny, and CG’s aggressive lyrics and delivery. Everything about this track is perfect, from the production, to the vocals and everything in-between. “Breaks & Caddys” is another prime example of ONEFOUR’s ability to improve every release.
