It’s the first week of June and another week of our DTW series is here with some dope releases from some of Australia’s biggest names.This week’s list has some of DTW’s most mentioned artists return with fresh and innovative sounds, alongside recently viral Australian rapper, Masked Wolf’s newest single. nerve - a capella 1take
One of our most mentioned artists returns for our first place spot this week with his latest release “A CAPELLA 1TAKE” featuring BBTK & friends. Taking a break from his hard hitting self produced bangers, Nerve has blessed the scene with an acapella one take that sounds like something out of one of Kanye’s Sunday Service sessions. With a smooth vocal sample from BBTK and friends being performed live providing a perfect melody for Nerve’s smooth bars and creative flow schemes. The track’s drive is also driven by the acoustic percussion of the clapping sticks and finger snaps completing the songs overall sound, whilst also helping the rapper keep time in his flow. M37 - MONEY MAKIN’
At our second spot this week is Melbourne based drill group “M37” and their latest single “Money Making”. Dropping on the 3rd of June with a high quality music video from ZacoBro. The boys have stepped it up for their second release of 2021, returning with their aggressive and hard hitting drill bars for another high tempo banger. With this group making notable improvements every release, we are more than excited to see what this young group can bring to the scene in the following years! MASKED WOLF - GRAVITY GLIDIN’
In his first ever appearance to our DTW series, this rapper needs no introduction. Recently going viral internationally with his breakout hit “Astronaut In The Ocean” peaking at the fourth spot on the ARIA charts this year, despite being released originally within Australia this time two years ago. Masked Wolf has yet again created another catchy hit with his latest single “Gravity Glidin” the fast paced grunge-y trap banger. The track's production features 80’s inspired synths with a fast paced, filthy 808 pattern giving the track it’s fast paced feel. Wolf rides the beat with a casual and slow flow scheme, juxtaposing the track’s intense production, Utilising various vocal effects and different cadences to carry the listener through the song.
