Bang My Line - Lil Spacey + Dante Knows
At the first spot this week, up and coming artists Lil Spacey and Dante Knows have teamed up for the club banger “Bang My Line”, the duo comes with some clever one liners over an intriguing lead melody that sounds distorted and reversed. The production is really interesting and features the aforementioned distorted lead melody paired with a slamming 808 that also has slight distortion and fast paced high hats that sounds like a potential club hit. With lyrical content consisting of multiple one liners that are often set up with similes and featuring various pop culture references this release is definitely worth a look.
Send It - Hooligan Hefs
In his first appearance in our weekly countdowns, Hooligan Hefs has released the long awaited party banger “Send It”. The party anthem comes just in time for the ease of covid restrictions and months of teasing on his Instagram story, with a high quality music video that features Hefs doing the paper route and sending out packages. The track features production from OPENTILLL8 and includes the signature Hefs party anthem build up and drop.
Unbreakable - Big Kash
Only months after getting shot, infamous Sydney rapper Big Kash dropped his single “Unbreakable”, making the second spot for this weeks list. Kash has returned with yet another drill influenced track that features a sample from the lead melody of Coolio’s “Gangsta’s Paradise” over a heavy 808 and slow drums. Kash samples 50 Cent’s hook from “Many Men” at the intro, referring to his survived assasination attempt by rival gang “OutCasts”. Big Kash has improved on his lyrical abilities squeezing in multiple clever one liners and punchlines whilst seamlessly transitioning between singing and rapping. He also samples the hook from “Gangsta’s Paradise” for his outro.
Days In The Rain - Isaac Puerile & GIN
At our number one spot this week, up and coming Sydney rapper Isaac Puerile has returned with GIN for their single “Days In The Rain”. The slow, melancholic trap banger features baroque strings and a flute for the lead, a distorted piano for the supporting melody, and a slow paced booming 808 bassline. Puerile is quickly becoming known within the scene and it’s no wonder why, his incredible vocals and delivery is matched by his ability to seamlessly switch from singing to rapping and vice versa. The song has an incredibly catchy hook and features some themes that fans will be familiar with, reminiscing on his struggle with poverty, substance abuse, his commitment to family all whilst effortlessly riding the beat.
