Tracks from ONEFOUR, Huskii, Shely210, and On The Gang
shely210 - feed my table
Starting off our list this week at our fourth spot, we have another smooth, hard hitting banger from Shely210 titled “Feed My Table”, dedicated to his personal motivations in relation to his music. Starting with a phone call from one of the oybays inside, The originally slow strings increase in speed and intensity as Shely jumps on the beat. Using a more aggressive delivery than usual that blends well with the heavy use of vocal effects and ad-libs. The overall mix of the track is great and manages to find room for the gritty 808, the vocal effects, ad-libs, and the marching snare pattern. Shely has done a great job and has some clear personal motives behind the track that he explains with his smooth, laid back flows.
on the gang - double up
On The Gang are back with another huge release “Double Up”, the video released exclusively on Pressplay Media, a predominately UK drill channel with international viewership. The production level on the project as a whole is insane, the beat features an interesting vocal sample with a subtle 808 paired with a gritty electric bassline. JAY6 jumps on for his catchy and laid back hook, while each member of the group has their own verses inbetween. The mixing and mastering for this track also matches the insane production level of the video clip that features numerous visual effects and a surprise cameo from a homeless man.
huskii - surfin’
Off his recently dropped album, Huskii’s track “Surfin’” is the last track on his latest EP and the second spot in our list this week. The slow strings and vocal sample drive make up the melody while the drill style drums and 808 drive the production. Huskii jumps on beat with a drill influenced rhyme scheme that allows for Huskii’s classic ad-libs, using interesting setups to create unique punchlines the track has the feel of some of his earlier projects. If you haven’t heard the album he just dropped, we recommend you read our article as you listen to the album on official streaming platforms.
onefour - better ft dutchavelli + carnage
Sydney’s realest have taken our top spot this week once again, this time with a track off their freshly dropped debut album. “Better”, featuring Dutchavelli and Carnage, features the highest production value we’ve seen from the Mounty boys and the scene in general. JM’s absolutely slaughters the first verse of the track with some new flows and rhyme schemes. Spenny fills the second verse with his classical name dropping punchlines and clever bars to set the stage for the international feature from Dutchavelli. It’s clear Dutchavelli wasn’t playing around either with equally aggressive and dark lyrical content. With production from Carnage being the second huge feature for the album, he brings the insane production and booming bassline that manages to match the aggression displayed through the lyrics.
